John Constantine is a contemporary artist that is pioneering how blockchain is used to authenticate ownership of physical art. The paintings are permanently and inextricably linked to tokens on the Ethereum blockchain via an embedded NFC chip. This pairing of blockchain based tokens with an embedded NFC chip is the most thorough attempt to ensure a long term record of ownership, authenticity, and provenance that has ever been implemented in fine art.

His body of work focuses on monochrome, acrylic paintings on real carbon fiber panels. His style ranges from abstract minimalism to surrealism, while thoughtful composition shows off the unique carbon materials in perfect harmony with the paintings themselves.
